Since GROOVELILY last appeared on an OPAS season over two years ago (remember Striking 12 their fantastic take on “The Little Match Girl”?), the trio’s popularity and success have continued to soar. In their latest piece, Sleeping Beauty Wakes, the creative trio takes a slightly different approach to the traditional telling of this fairy tale favorite by finding Beauty awakening from her centuries-long snooze in a sleep-disorder center! This rock concert/musical theater piece brims with witty jokes, heart-felt moments and stars electric violinist/vocalist Valerie Vigoda, keyboardist/vocalist Brendan Milburn and percussionist/funnyman Gene Lewin. This one’s definitely not a snoozer!
